Earlier this year I had the pleasure of making an engagement ring for one of my closest friends. Her partner brought his initial thoughts and ideas to our first meeting and together we crafted a design for his partner that we both thought she would love.

based on J’s love for her own Mum’s engagement ring, the design we settled on was a modern take on a classic twist-style ring fabricated in Platinum, joined at the centre with a beautifully sparkly, GIA certified Princess Cut diamond.

Now that it’s a “Yes!”, I can finally share the finished ring and announce that Aillie Anderson Platinum is officially here!

A Winter Wedding

Last year I had the pleasure of crafting two platinum wedding bands for K & S.

Elegant and understated with subtle detail, K’s band featured a slight tapering that mimicked the form of her engagement ring and allowed her wedding band to sit comfortably around the central stone. S’s comfort-fit band made use of contrast in having a highly polished interior and matte appearance on the exterior.

J & B

Wishing to contrast and accentuate her existing engagement ring, B decided on an 18ct Yellow-Gold band in a half-moon design to frame her vintage inspired halo-setting engagement ring.

J opted for a simple comfort style band in 18ct White Gold with a brushed matte finish.

An Architects rufurb

In 2019, I was commissioned by Norman and Brenda to craft a contemporary piece of jewellery for them using their inherited 18ct white gold wedding bands, as well as a lifetime’s worth of sterling silver medals for bag-piping.

We decided on two pieces that made the best use of their material. The first embodied their love of unique architecture and design - a statement brooch with attachable chain created from their silver medals, the second an 18ct White Gold ‘Double Granite’ ring that ensured the gold’s material integrity and was in keeping with the ring’s initial sentimental spirit.
