Drawing inspiration from the built environment around Glasgow and particularly the modern architecture and industrial structures of the city, my work aims to explore my appreciation of these overlooked details within the urban environment with reference to my personal connection to Glasgow.

My work interprets the idea of perspective, inciting consideration of solidity, line and hollow space and combines these ideas alongside the varied angular forms that occur from my visuals. Through experimentation of combinations of material, similar to the likes of steel and concrete, I aim to explore the relationship between the physical scale of these structures and the value of the objects, enhancing my ideas through the sculptural quality of precious metal, silverware and adornment. By using a combination of distinctively textured, precise scored silver forms alongside hand cast jesmonite my work also engages with the divergence between media, surface and weight comparable to that of my inspiration.
